1. Should all Christians seek to develop the ability to teach the Bible to others?
a. How do we reconcile Hebrews 5:12-14 and James 3:1?
b. How should James 3:1 affect our attitude toward teaching God’s word?
2. Discuss effective and ineffective teaching methods.
a. How should we measure a teacher’s effectiveness in a class?
b. What types of things do you believe make for a good or bad Bible class?
c. How might one teacher use a certain method effectively, while another uses the same method with no success at all?
d. What does this tell us about the importance of fitting the teaching method to both the teacher and the opportunity?
3. Discuss the value and dangers of using prepared material in classes.
a. What advantages do you see in having prepared materials in class, e.g. workbook?
b. What potential drawbacks/dangers exist in using such materials?
c. How can a teacher best utilize such resources without misusing them?
4. Discuss the current teaching program and potential teacher development.
a. Are we as men contributing enough to the teaching program of this church?
b. What can we do to better develop teachers? What would help you?
c. Why are male Bible teachers vitally important to the teaching program?
