1. Discuss the father’s role in leading his family spiritually.
a. How do fathers “set the tone” spiritually for their family?
b. Why is the father’s spirituality as important for the family, if not more so, than any other single member?
c. Why does Ephesians 6:4 specifically address fathers? Don’t mothers play an important role as well? Aren’t mothers with the children more in most families?
d. Who is ultimately responsible for the spirituality (or lack thereof) of my home?
2. How should we as men lead our families spiritually?
a. What role does our example play in the leadership of the family?
b. They say actions speak louder than words. How does this statement relate to spiritual leadership?
c. Is spiritual leadership solely an issue for men with children at home?
d. How can/should a man be a spiritual leader after his children are gone?
3. Discuss practical issues in the family’s spiritual life/activities.
a. What are the best ways a man can instill a sense of spirituality in his family?
b. How can we disciple our children through our efforts at disciplining them?
c. In what ways can a man take the lead after his children are gone, to continue to help both he and his wife grow in the Lord?
d. What spiritual habits have you found helpful/ effective in your family life?
Are we doing our duty by providing spiritual leadership for our wife and children? Or are we surrendering our role to others?
